As you may know I am learning Web Development from the internet.
I took the “Understanding Web Development” course on Skillshare by Christopher Dodd back in September and I recently completed my third Skillshare course called “How to efficiently build WordPress websites with Divi” again by Christopher Dodd.
Now I want to go deep in Web Development and I will take “Web Development Fundamentals: HTML & CSS” in the upcoming month.
I was researching the net on learning coding and I came across this video from code.org featuring Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey and more.
I explored further and came about this video where Bill Gates teaches using “if statements”
These are videos made by Code.org. It is an organization that encourages people to learn to code.
I was immediately fascinated by that puzzle-like thing in the Bill Gates if statement tutorial video and I wanted to get my hands on that.
I immediately signed up for code.org and after nearly one hour of exploring I finally found it.
It is called Blockly. It is a Visual Programming Language used to teach coding using a graphical interface.
I started with a course called Pre-reader Express. It teaches coding from the start. I was immediately hooked up. They have designed the course in a fun and easy way to learn. Coding like this feels like a video game.
Also there is a button which you can click which shows the actual code you are writing below the blocks. Seeing it textually and graphically makes more sense of it all and helps you understand the logics better.
The best part is it is completely free. Anyone can sign up and learn.
I am going to do just that. And you can too.
Thanks a lot to Code.org for being such an amazing resource and for encouraging people to learn to code.
I wish I had discovered it earlier.
Later!
