Swati: A Computer Engineer
There was a girl named Swati from the town of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
Born in the early 90s to a Middle class family, she was a bright child. She did good both in her academics as well as extra curricular activities.
She was a good badminton player as well. She played with her neighborhood friends on winter nights after sincerely doing her homework.
She studied in one of the top schools of her town and as a result of her excellence in studies she was a popular kid in her class and was the class monitor.
Their parents and teacher were always proud of her and would always say that she will achieve great success in her life.
Swati scored 85% marks in her 10th board exams and topped her class.
Though she was good at all her subjects Science, Maths, Language her parents wanted her to take Maths as they cannot afford Medical college fees and commerce is not for toppers.
She wasn’t a rebellious kind of girl she did as her parents told and took the Maths branch. Also, all her other friends were taking Maths.
She prepared well for the entrance exams AIEEE, IIT wanting to get into NITs and IITs and managed to land into one of the good NITs.
She Chose the Computer Science Stream. Again not because it is what she wanted but because that is what all her friends were taking, that is what her parents told her to take.
She also didn’t have any preference for any field. She just went with the flow. Did what everyone else was doing.
As she was excellent in studies, she also did well in her college.
She did well academically, understood the concepts of Computer Science well and scored good marks throughout college all the while enjoying college life & making friends.
In her final semester at her college placement she was offered a job at Infosys as an assistant software engineer with a good annual package making her parents proud and giving them something to brag about to their relatives. Swati is excited as hell to join.
This is the year 2016. It has been one year since she joined Infosys. Now the initial excitement has worn off but it is still a good Job.
Swati has become a Computer Engineer. But it is still the beginning of her life and there is a lot to come.
