Coming back as an Options Trader

Posted by

Hi All!!

It’s been a long time Isn’t it??

Almost 2.5 years since my Last post!

I was working on solvings some kinks and probs in my life. And now I think they have been solved to an optimum level.

2 years back on October 2021, I started my journey as an Options Trader by Joining a Youtuber’s Join Button course. That Youtuber was Subashish Pani aka Power of Stocks!!

It is October 2023, I have successfully survived in Options Trading for 2 years!! I have paid nearly 50K in the market in the form of “Losses”

But they are not losses they are tuition fees to survive in the market.

From October 2021 to March 2022, I lost (paid tution fees) nearly 30K.

From new financial year , April 2022 to March 2023, I paid 16K as tuition fees in the market to survive and learn.

This financial year, April 2023 to present (October 2023) Positive 3K!!

Here are the screenshots for the same:

How Cool is that?? I can’t believe it!! I am not in Red. I am in Green!!!

I shouldn’t be looking (at this point) at profit after brokerage and taxes.

I should be looking at profit before brokerage and taxes. Because at this stage when qty is super low that is what matters.

In both the financial years I have not given a single rupee to the market. On the contrary I have been able to take some money out of the market from amateur and impatient traders who do not follow the system.

I have only given money to zerodha and to government. Since the qty size is pretty small that is why gross PnL figure is small and brokerage & taxes figure is high and hence the net figure is negative or low positive.

When I gain more experience in the market. I will increase the quantity size hence my gross PnL will increase proportionally. But the brokerage remains same or will only slightly increase.

And hence over time my net PnL will start reflecting more of my gross PnL and charges will be a very small portion of it.

I am so very grateful to have been able to survive in the market for almost 2 years.

Credit goes to a great extent to Subashish Sir! And to a lesser extent to my discipline and commitment towards learning it.

Currently short on Time! Will post again soon!!

Bye !!
